Capstone Project:
Emory University Interior Decorating & Home Staging Certification (2025)
For my 12-week capstone project at Emory University, I designed a shared living and dining space for an imaginary client scenario. The client, Ashley, was a single mother with a teenage daughter, a $15,000 budget, and a love of bright colors. I envisioned their home as a light-filled 2-bedroom, 2-bath condo with a wraparound balcony, crafting a space that felt coastal, calming, and expressive for both mother and daughter.
Drawing from an inspiration palette of natural textures, botanical warmth, soft greens, wood accents, and artful layered materials, I aimed to blend traditional comfort with touches of modern, boho, and vintage character. Using Planner5D software, I built the space to scale, planned furniture layouts, selected appropriately sized pieces, and created a cohesive visual direction through mood boards, color selections, and curated décor. The final concept resulted in a joyful, nature-inspired sanctuary that balances functionality, personal expression, and the ease of everyday living.
